Common Questions
Answers to the Questions I Hear Most Often.
When and how should I enroll in Medicare?
You’re eligible to enroll during your Initial Enrollment Period, which begins three months before your 65th birthday and ends three months after. If you’re still working and have employer coverage, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period later.
What do Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D cover?
Part A covers hospital stays,
Part B covers doctor visits and outpatient care,
Part C (Medicare Advantage) is a bundled plan that may include extra benefits, and
Part D helps pay for prescription drugs..
How much does Medicare cost?
Costs vary depending on the plan and your income. You may pay monthly premiums, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance, but some people qualify for savings programs that reduce these costs.
What doesn’t Medicare cover?
Original Medicare generally doesn’t cover routine dental, vision, hearing, or long-term care. Many people add Medicare Advantage or supplemental (Medigap) plans to fill in the gaps.
